There seems to be a real mismatch between just a few of large SI’s doing the bulk of the hiring now

As everybody in my network knows, Oracle cut deep into NetSuite’s own organization this year.

On paper, that should have been a good thing for the people affected — a concentrated pool of certified NetSuite talent hitting the market at once, in a space that’s stayed undersupplied for years.

That is not what I am hearing from the people actually living it.

What I am hearing instead: strong candidates applying to real openings and hearing nothing back. Not a rejection, not a call, nothing.

The HR black hole. In some cases, people are getting screened out before a human ever sees the resume, by whatever bot the ATS is running this month.

And when I talk to partners directly, more than one has told me they “hope” to be hiring again once things settle down, pointing to the war with Iran, the broader economy, all of it.

Meanwhile, yes, the large SIs are absorbing plenty of that talent. But mostly through the back door. Referrals, internal networks, people who already know someone on the inside. Not through open postings, and not through outside agencies. If you do not already have a connection into one of those firms, you are largely on your own.

Here is why I think that gap matters more than the layoff headline itself. A shortage that only resolves itself through insider access is not really solving anything for most of the people in it. It just means the outcome depends on who you already know, not what you can do.

If you are one of the good people stuck in that black hole right now, or a partner who is further along than “hoping to hire again soon,” I would genuinely like to talk. This is exactly the gap I spend my days working in.

What are you seeing out there? Does this match your experience, or are you seeing something different?

We track every new Microsoft Dynamics 365 and NetSuite job posting across North America, every single day, and October gave us the clearest read yet on where this market is actually heading. The short version is that ERP hiring cooled about 11% from September. That headline is true, and it is also misleading. Almost the entire drop sits in the Dynamics implementation tracks, while NetSuite held flat and demand for senior, in-house talent stayed strong. Whether this market feels soft or busy right now depends entirely on which role you are trying to fill. I pulled the full track by track breakdown into this month’s DynamicsFocus Recruiting Report, and it is attached below. If you have a role that has been sitting open since the summer, I would genuinely love to hear what you have tried so far and am more than happy to schedule a 30 minute Teams call to share potential strategies to rectify the situation, no strings attached. #MicrosoftDynamics #D365 #Dynamics365 #NetSuite #ERP #NetSuiteRecruiting #MicrosoftDynamicsRecruiting #TalentMarket #Hiring #AIAgents
