Bob Scott reporting in his weekly Insights column.
Microsoft has reached an agreement to buy FieldOne Systems, which markets field service management applications. Based in Mahwah, N.J., FieldOne had joined Microsoft’s Strategic Global ISV Partner Program in March. The benefits are the same—FieldOne is built on Dynamics CRM and Microsoft was going to sell the acquired application anyway. The company markets the FieldOne Sky platform which offers features such as work order management, automated scheduling, asset contract, inventory and procurement management, workflow capabilities and mobile collaboration. The company was founded in April 2001 by Shlomo Baum, its president and chief technology officer. Ilan Slasky has served as CEO since September 2009. FieldOne’s Certified Partners (resellers) include Armanino, Crestwood Associates, JourneyTeam and Queue Associates. Its consulting partners include I.B.I.S., the Integrated Business Group and RSM (the recently renamed McGladrey).
