Avalara Partners with Retail Realm to Automate Sales Tax Management for Microsoft Dynamics AX Retail Customers

Avalara, Inc., a leading provider of tax compliance automation for businesses of all sizes, today announced a new partnership with Retail Realm, a multinational retail-centric software developer and distributor.

This partnership will enable customers of Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail to benefit from Avalara, whose solution automatically calculates sales tax in the real-time “magic moment” of ecommerce.

Avalara’s sales tax management offering will add a new component to RR mAX Essentials, an integrated solution that enhances and extends the out-of-the-box retail functionality of Dynamics AX. Additionally, customers can add Avalara’s tax return preparation, filing and remittance services.

Avalara will showcase its new solution in the Exhibit Hall at the annual ‘Retail Realm Partner & User Conference’ August 21 – August 23 at the Four Seasons hotel in Las Vegas.

Microsoft Invites Peppermint to Enterprise Cloud Alliance

Cloud solution provider Peppermint Technology has become a member of Microsoft’s Enterprise Cloud Alliance, bringing together enterprise and cloud solutions in strategic engagements with Microsoft.

Membership in the Alliance, which is by invitation, gives Peppermint, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, direct access to the Microsoft Cloud and Enterprise team. The alliance is part of Peppermint’s ongoing strategy to help its customers quickly respond to the constantly changing business needs in the legal market, according to company officials.

As part of the alliance, gives Peppermint early insight into Microsoft’s future plans and developments for its cloud and Microsoft Dynamics products, according to Peppermint CTO Mike Walker.

“We launched our second-generation Peppermint Cloud earlier this year. We’ve migrated 25 of our law firm customers, and are taking more live over the next few months,” Walker said in a statement. “We are investing further and enhancing our relationship with Microsoft, and participation in the Enterprise Cloud Alliance will help us ensure our customers get even more value from the Peppermint Cloud using Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Azure.

Everards Upgrades to Latest Version of Dynamics NAV

Everards, a Leicestershire, UK-based brewer and pub operator, is upgrading to the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV with the UK-based The NAV People, to enable future growth.

Dynamics NAV has reduced the number of manual tasks undertaken across the organization and automated the purchase order approvals process within the company’s property management department, according to officials of the companies.

Everards had been using Dynamics NAV since 2006 and wanted to add features to its existing platform and extend the capabilities of the application. The company upgraded to the nAblement Suite, a set of applications created by The NAV People and certified by Microsoft, which has provided Everards with a modern, robust, and flexible platform that can grow and change with the business, officials said.

SK Global Software Now Available in Microsoft AppSource

Dynamics AX global banking and treasury solutions ISV, SK Global Software, has announced that its Treasury Automation Suite for Dynamics AX is available in Microsoft’s new AppSource, automating banking and treasury processes for Microsoft Dynamics AX customers.

The new Microsoft AppSource Marketplace is an online market for buying and selling software-as-a-service applications and datasets.

SK Global Software’s marketplace solution helps treasury and accounting departments with such things as bank communications in the areas of cash management, vendor and customer payments, FX settlements, risk management, according to company officials.
