16 Fridays of Notre Dame Football on a Recruiting Page
For the next 16 Fridays, I am going to write about Notre Dame football on a LinkedIn page that is supposed to be about recruiting.
Marcus Freeman is 43-12 going into year five, and he just turned down the NFL to stay in South Bend. The Giants had him at the top of their list. The Bears asked to interview him. Instead, he signed with ND through 2031. C.J. Carr is back as a sophomore, after closing his first year as the starter with 10 straight wins, 2,741 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Depending on which poll you read, the Irish are a preseason top 10 team this year and some have them slated as a potential title contender! This is despite losing the best backfield duo in college football to the NFL draft in Price and Love in I don’t know how many years.
Our season starts Sunday night, September 6, at Lambeau Field against Wisconsin. Green Bay, prime time, alone on NBC. I can’t wait.
That is a lot of expectation for a program that has not won a title since 1988, but we Irish fans are eternally hopeful as a group.
Not that I need to justify it(it is my feed after all, right?) but there is actually a link. Roster building in college football is now a hiring problem with serious money attached. The median Power 4 roster costs about $23 million with 7 universities surpassing $40 million! That is some serious coin for a college sports team.
And the people running those programs will tell you the same thing I tell clients, keeping the person, you already have costs a lot less than going out and trying to recruit a replacement.
So with that in mind, take a look and determine who the top producer on your team is right now and ask yourself this 1 question. Do they really know how much you appreciate them?
If not, they better soon because if not either myself or my competition are coming for them……. 😛
