Sage customer Room to Read wins Nucleus Research 2019 Technology ROI Award

Sage (FTSE: SGE), the market leader in cloud business management solutions, today announced that Sage Intacct customer Room to Read has been named a winner of the 2019 Technology ROI Awards. By deploying Sage Intacct’s best in class financial management software, Room to Read achieved a 402 percent return on investment, according to a study by Nucleus Research.

In its 17th year, the Technology ROI Awards recognize the top 10 technology projects of the year based on the overall value delivered by the project. Nucleus Research analysts performed an independent ROI assessment calculating the actual business benefits and ROI achieved by each project; winners were chosen based strictly on the ROI recognized from their implementation.

Room to Read is a global nonprofit transforming the lives of millions of children around the world through its focus on children’s literacy and gender equality through education. Founded in 2000 on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children®, Room to Read’s innovative model focuses on deep, systemic change within schools in low-income communities during the two time periods that are most critical in a child’s schooling: early primary school for literacy acquisition and secondary school for girls’ education.

Room to Read has benefitted more than 16.8 million children, expanded its programs to 16 countries, and reached over $50 million in annual contributions. To support its continued growth, the organization deployed Sage Intacct, which helped Room to Read modernize its financial management infrastructure, all while achieving a payback period of four months. Room to Read completely rebuilt its general ledger and revamped its accounting practices, enabling an expansion of its outreach capabilities. Since deployment, Room to Read has streamlined its monthly financial close process, reduced costs, and increased staff productivity—allowing it to reach over 100,000 additional children through its programs.

This year’s Technology ROI Awards recognized the consistent return on investment Nucleus continues to track from cloud applications and people applications such as customer relationship management (CRM), human capital management (HCM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and analytics application projects.

“As technology options have become more complex and nuanced, selecting a solution that can potentially deliver value is only the first step,” said Ian Campbell, CEO, Nucleus Research. “The awards recognize not only that the Sage Intacct solution delivers value, but that the Room to Read project team successfully managed deployment and adoption to deliver bottom-line results.”
