Notre Dame vs. Miami and Recruiting: Polish Gets Attention, Experience Delivers

Saturday night at 7:30 on NBC, No. 1 Miami visits No. 4 Notre Dame at Notre Dame Stadium, and I’m thinking this is the whole season in one game.

Both teams are banged up, with Miami missing star receiver Malachi Toney and the Irish missing leading tackler Drayk Bowen, but make no mistake, this is still the top team in the country.

The AP voters have the Irish at No. 4, but the committee has us at No. 11, the last team in the field, and with automatic bids going to the conference champions, one slip puts us on the outside looking in.

The knock all year has been the lack of a signature win, so we have to play our way in, and this is the game to do it. If we lose Saturday, I believe we are out. No pressure here…… 🤗

Likewise in recruiting, every recruiting company can tell you how great they are, and the big ones have the marketing budgets to get their name in front of everyone, with amazing websites, big booth’s at all the industry conferences or a copious amount of slick, polished marketing materials that give the impression of exclusive prestige that should translate to value.

But do you know who is actually going to be doing the recruiting work on your search?

Who has the existing relationships in your channel to get it done?

Who has worked specifically in your niche for decades and can help you decide what is truly necessary; from the type of profile itself that makes the most sense to solve your business challenge, to the model of hiring of full time versus contract, to the recruiting approach that will be most successful to attract the type of person you are seeking?

That is all I have done for 25 years, in the Microsoft Dynamics and NetSuite world, and it is why you get me on your search, not a brand name.

Polish gets attention, but results come from the person doing the work, and just like Saturday night, you find out who can deliver once the commitment is made and everything is on the line. Do you want to put that trust in polish or experience?

Go Irish!!

We track every new Microsoft Dynamics 365 and NetSuite job posting across North America, every single day, and October gave us the clearest read yet on where this market is actually heading. The short version is that ERP hiring cooled about 11% from September. That headline is true, and it is also misleading. Almost the entire drop sits in the Dynamics implementation tracks, while NetSuite held flat and demand for senior, in-house talent stayed strong. Whether this market feels soft or busy right now depends entirely on which role you are trying to fill. I pulled the full track by track breakdown into this month’s DynamicsFocus Recruiting Report, and it is attached below. If you have a role that has been sitting open since the summer, I would genuinely love to hear what you have tried so far and am more than happy to schedule a 30 minute Teams call to share potential strategies to rectify the situation, no strings attached. #MicrosoftDynamics #D365 #Dynamics365 #NetSuite #ERP #NetSuiteRecruiting #MicrosoftDynamicsRecruiting #TalentMarket #Hiring #AIAgents
